Interesting. I think it is because the Malay peninsula is similar to the Italian peninsula, and ‘Romania’ is probably an ancient name that generally refers to the Italian peninsula. Btw, thanks for reading.

Malayu ditulis Ptolemy pada tahun 150M Masehi. Malayu tidak sama dengan Malaya seperti dalam bahasa Sanskrit. Mungkin Sanskrit dan pengarangnya telah mencuri kata Mala dari tulisan Ptolemy itu kerana perkataan Malaya hanya baru ditemukan dalam kitab Vayu Purana yang dikarang pada tahun 350M, iaitu setelah 200 tahun Ptolemy membuat peta tersebut.

If the words “Melayu” really derived from “lari” means the study of European, West & Jews about the lost tribe is mostly true. Till now Jews not able to find their one of lost tribe. Some research claims that these people escape from middle east to somewhere uncertain place. it might be this place of Μαλεου Κώλον which drawn by Claudius Ptolemy. That’s how a new races was begin.

These facts answered the allegations that “Melayu” is derived from Sanskrit or worst “Melayu” is derived from Javanese word referring to the migration of Parameswara from Palembang which they took it meaning as “Lari”.
